Download Options for the Flight Trainer
The Flight Trainer is available in several different download options depending
on whether you want us to install the correct version of Java Virtual Machine
or you will install the correct version yourself.
Supported platforms
- Windows - with the Java Virtual Machine 1.4 or greater installed
- Mac OS X - with the
Java
Virtual Machine 1.4 or greater installed

bundled Java
Virtual Machine 1.4 or greater installed. Click on the graphic to
learn more about Java(TM) Web Start.
- Pure Java - The current Flight Trainer has a "pure java"
installer which will install this version on computers running Java 1.4
or higher. This installer has been tested on Windows and Macs.

Java Virtual Machine Options
The Flight Trainer requires 1.4 or higher of the Java Virtual Machine
(JVM).
The Flight Trainer is delivered using two different installers one
which includes version 1.4 of the JVM and the other which does include the JVM.
The later assumes that you hve installed the correct JVM yourself.
- Includes a Java Virtual Machine - this
download includes the Flight Trainer along with
the required version of the Java Virtual Machine. The installer
determines if the correct version of the JVM is already installed on your
machine. If the Flight Trainer installs a copy of the JVM, the JVM is only available to
the Flight Trainer.
We recommend that you
use the Get Java(TM) Technology
installation so your web browser(s) and other Java applications can also
take advantage of the latest JVM.
- Without a Java Virtual Machine -
this download assumes you already
have the correct JVM installed and will install the Flight Trainer using
the already installed JVM This approach makes the latest and
greatest of the JVM available to all other Java applications and web browsers
on your computer. It does require more effort on your part. The
