Evaluation - downloading and installing

Flying Dynamics offers two different types of software license keys:

  1. Evaluation key- gives you full access to all the trainers, quizzes and simulators for .6 days from the when you submit your license request.
  2. Product key - gives you access to the features you have purchased - Ground Reference, Basic Instruments, or Instrument Pilot.

These instructions are for installing an evaluation version of  the Flight Trainer.  If you:

  1. are purchasing a Product license, please follow this link.
     
  2. want to rent the Flight Trainer, please follow this link.

The Evaluation installation of the Flight Trainer consists of these steps:

  1. Downloading the Flight Trainer
  2. Installing the Flight Trainer
  3. Installing the Evaluation License
  4. Using the Flight Trainer

Downloading  the Flight Trainer

The Flight Trainer requires that JVM v1.4 or higher (Java Virtual Machine) or higher is installed on your computer.  Please follow this link to determine if you have the correct version.

Please click on this link for your download options. We recommend that you save it to your local disk and then install it.


 

Installing the Fight Trainer

After you download and save the Flight Trainer installer, double click on that file and the installer will guide you through the installation process.  After installing the software, the next step is to install the Evaluation license key.

Install the Evaluation license key

Please follow these steps to install the Evaluation license key:

  1. Complete the evaluation request form.  Once you complete and submit the request, you will be emailed an Evaluation license key that is good for 3 days from the date of request.
     
  2. Start the Flight Trainer using Start Õ Flying Dynamics Õ Flight Trainer
     
  3. In the Current License pane, press the Update button


     
    4. In the Registration dialog, enter your evaluation license key and your name.  We recommended that you use copy&paste to copy the license key from the email sent to you and paste button in the Registration dialog to paste it into the "License Key" field.

     
     
  4. Press Register and you are off and running for 3 days from the date when you requested the evaluation. 

Using the Fight Trainer

Once you have successfully installed the Flight Trainer,  you can start the Flight Trainer using Start Õ Flying Dynamics Õ Flight Trainer.

The Evaluation license is valid for 3 days from the date it was sent to you. After that, you will have access to the Flight Trainer's help but not its trainers, quizzes or simulators.  To purchase a Product license, please follow this link.
