Dual VOR Quiz

The Dual VOR Quiz tests your interpretation of VOR indicators by showing you two VOR indications and a directional gyro heading.  You are asked to correctly position the plane within the overlapping areas of the two VORs.

Plane Colors

• Yellow  - the  plane is ready to begin a  New Quiz
• Red - your selected location is incorrect
• Green - your selected location is correct
• White - your selected location is correct and within the Shown Answer area.

The Controls

1. Randomly relocates the plane
2. Creates and displays a random VOR indication
3. Creates and displays a random DG indication
4. Displays "Position plane" in the Status line

• Show Answer - will highlight the correct "VOR area".  If your plane is anywhere within this area, your answer is correct.
• Correct / Tried - shows the number of attempted and correct answers.
• Reset score - Resets correct and tried to zero.

• Drag 'n release - position the airplane and score your answer. Your answer is correct if:

  1. You are within  3 degrees of the correct bearing when the CDI is not full scale.
  2. Or if the CDI is full scale, as long as the center of the plane is within the "VOR area" represented by the CDI and OBS indications.
