HSI/VOR Trainer

The HSI/VOR Trainer allows you to position the plane by dragging it with the mouse to a position around the VOR, adjust the plane's heading and the HSI and VOR's OBS headings, and observe the indications. 

The OBSes of the HSI and VOR are connected so as you turn one, the other indicates the same. When the plane is located outside the compass rose,  the VOR is flagged "off" to simulate out of range.

The Controls

• Drag 'n Release -  Place the mouse over the white spot in the plane and press the left mouse button.  While holding the left mouse button down, drag the plane, and observe the changes in the instrumentation.
   
• HSI and VOR OBS indicators

 

• "Red" - a single press or holding the red button will turn the OBS indicator counter-clockwise.

• "Green" - a single press or holding the green button will turn the OBS indicator clockwise.

Show VOR areas checkbox - checking this checkbox will display an overlay of the "VOR areas" on the VOR.

• Bank/Heading - banks the plane when used with a Simulator or changes the plane's heading when used with a Trainer.

• Press the "left" or "right" button to turn the plane in that direction.
• As long as you hold the button down, the plane's direction will change.
