VOR Flight Simulator

The VOR Simulator gives you the opportunity to fly around a VOR and observe the effects of bearing changes, directional changes, and wind on the VOR indications.  The simulation displays the VOR, Turn Coordinator, Attitude Indicator, Directional Gyro.

The Controls

Show VOR areas - checking this will display an overlay of the "VOR areas" on the VOR

• Plane track

• Show - when checked displays the plane's track in the simulator's window.
• Reset - when pressed will erase the plane's track to it's current position and will resume drawing from there if Show is checked.

• Simulation Start / Stop button

  and red indicates the simulation is stopped.  When pressed, the simulation will start. The plane's position will be calculated based on its speed, direction,  bank, and the wind's direction and speed.

and green indicates the simulation is running.  When pressed, the simulation will stop. The plane's position and heading will no longer change until it is started again. When a simulation is resumed, the plane will begin calculating its position from the point where it was stopped.

Wind Direction arrow - indicates the wind direction.  You can select it and position anywhere on the screen.

• Setup tab - the Flight Simulator Setup provides common controls to all the Flight Trainer Simulators.
