ILS Course Quiz

The ILS Course Quiz randomly selects a localizer and glide slope indication and  a location for the plane.  You are asked to:

  1. Position the plane on a bearing from the Localizer, and
  2. Position the plane at an elevation in Elevation View that would display the correct VOR and HSI indication.

The ILS Course Quiz manager will prompt you for the steps to complete the answer:

The possible steps are:

  1. New Quiz - creates a new localizer and glide slope indication and displays the VOR and HSI indications.
  2. Position localizer and elevation plane. Once you have positioned both planes, your position will be checked.
  3. Quiz Complete - you have correctly positioned the localizer and elevation planes - Figure 2.
  4. Show answer - will highlight all of the correct areas in green - Figure 2.

The VOR and HSI indications are controlled by the Service Volume of the localizer and Glide Slope. Please review how the Service Volume has been implemented to assist you in selecting the correct localizer and elevation plane(s).
