ILS Plane Quiz

The ILS Plane Quiz randomly positions planes around the localizer - Figure 1:

For each plane in the Localizer View, planes are added to the Elevation View at random elevations - Figure 2.

One of Localizer View planes and one of Elevation View planes is selected as the correct plane and appropriate VOR and/or HSI indications are displayed - Figure 3.

The VOR and HSI indications are controlled by the Service Volume of the localizer and glide slope. Please review how the Service Volume has been implemented to assist you in selecting the correct Localizer and Elevation plane(s).

The Quiz control will guide you through the steps to complete the quiz - Figure 4.

The possible steps are:

  1. New Quiz - relocates the planes and creates a new correct plane. It is possible that more than one plane will be the correct answer.
  2. Select localizer or elevation plane.  When you select a localizer plane by clicking on it, it and its associated elevation planes will turn purple - Figure 5.
  3. Select elevation plane.  If you selected an incorrect plane, the status will become "Incorrect! - try again".  If the selected plane is correct, it will turn green.
  4. Correct, there are X more answers, chose again - this will continue until "Quiz complete!"
  5. "Quiz Complete!" - you have chose all of the correct answers - Figure 6.
  6. Show answer - will highlight all the correct answers in green - Figure 6.
