The ILS Trainer shows you the localizer and glide slope indications as you move the plane in two views:
You can drag the plane to change its latitude and longitude position. Note - the localizer width is set to 3 times its normal width. This gives you more area in which to move the plane through the course and see the indications.
The two Views are cross connected - changes in longitude position in one changes the longitude location in the other.
The VOR and HSI indications are controlled by the Service Volume of the Localizer and Glide Slope. Review how the Service Volume has been implemented.
- Show back course - shows or hides the back course.
- Show centerline - shows or hides the center line.
- Show service volume - shows or hides the localizer's service volume.
- Lateral - from the centerline of the localizer.
- Vertical - from the centerline of the glide slope.
- Distance - from the localizer/glide slope "transmitters".
The lateral distance is correct for non-standard width localizers. The "standard" width used by this version is a 3 degrees.
- Press the "left" or "right" button to turn the plane in that direction.
- As long as you hold the button down, the plane's direction will change.
